Hi, my name is Christina and I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and mom of 2. What I wanted to bring to you with Savvy Sprouts was that combination because, well my life revolves around those two characteristics!
Part 1: RDN – Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Child nutrition is not just something I have to think about with my own children. By trade I am a pediatric dietitian, having worked with WIC (Women, Infant, and Children) and Head Start/Early Head Start programs for the past 6 years! I love working with kids and knew from the beginning of my dietetic journey that I wanted to work in this area. Prior to having children I did work full-time but I took a year off when my son was born and have been working part-time ever since.
Part 2: Mom life
My son was born in the Fall of 2015 and as all other moms know – life has never been the same. I told him I would get him a dog for his 2nd birthday but instead he got a sister! So at the time I’m writing this I have an almost 3 year old and an almost 1 year old. Life can be hectic but it sure is fun.
I honestly didn’t start doing more structured learning activities until after my daughter was born. Part of it maybe was my way of sitting down with my son for some time that was just for him. Since then I’ve used my Instagram as a platform to share ideas for early learning, sensory play, art projects and more which I now plan on developing further with Savvy Sprouts.
Welcome to Savvy Sprouts!
Savvy Sprouts will showcase predominantly toddler focused activities as well as incorporating my nutrition background. I hope you find something here worthwhile and pass it on!
Disclaimer: My degree is Nutrition and Health Promotion. I have no formal education or training in Early Childhood Education. I’m just a passionate mama who wants the best for her kids.
